Google who acquired Blogspot in 2003 has always kept its services free, continuing it to country-specific domains which it acquired in 2013. This indeed has always been a good place to start and grow for all those bloggers who wish to rise, high. But suddenly in July 2020, there’s news saying Google loses its control over Blogspot.in, which on verification turns out true! Look “site:blogspot.in” on Google Search, You’ll find Millions of indexed results.

blogspot.in not opening

This is one hell of a news to everyone who is going to miss from hundreds of traffic to millions of traffic. What has led Google to take this step is still unclear but a few reasons might be the freely available feature is being miss-used by many, people just start and leave the blog, and this is of zero productivity to google. Google hardly had anything premium in its services. While most of the features on google are already given free like Gmail, Storage, Photos, Meets, etc, this blog spot might have turned something really chaotic to them.

Will this affect?

                                                                                        [TNW’s WHOIS query]

Yes, definitely. We depend on Google for many things, from recipes to top 10 of anything, from daily tips to best quotes. Least to our knowledge, we include many sites that are with the extension Blogspot.in. People usually prefer this based on the security google provides as well as it being free! But now nothing exists. Most affected are the bloggers who are going to miss the content as well as the money they make out of this blog.

What is the alternative?

Blogspot.in (.in specifies India i.e., country-specific) Blogspot.com is still working. But what has to be noticed is this can happen to Blogspot.com as well. So, it is always better to prefer the premium services that come with full proof security terms and conditions.

These are a Best Blogger alternatives you can check out:

2) Weebly
3) Wix
4) Tumblr
5) Medium

We would suggest, depend on free domains in the initial stage, later on, move to paid domains. But starting with a paid domain will let you be tension free and encourages you to do justice for the money you paid.
